Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Synk is operated by Zaratan LLC (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: info@synk-dating.com. For privacy requests, contact our privacy team at the same address.

2. Data we process

• Account: email address, password (hashed), authentication metadata.
• Profile: first name, age, photos, gender and preferences, location, job, bio, interests, life-goal answers.
• Birth data you provide: birth date, time and place — used to compute your astrology chart, Human Design and numerology. You enter only your own data.
• Derived insights: astrological chart, Human Design, numerology, Synk Score and AI-generated reading text.
• Identity / Face Check (biometric): a selfie used to confirm you are a real person and that your photos match you. This is special-category (biometric) data processed only with your explicit consent, solely for verification and anti-fraud, and not used for any other purpose.
• Communications: messages with your matches (stored to provide the chat and for safety; chat is append-only/revision-safe).
• Payments: handled by Stripe and, on mobile, by Apple/Google. We do not store full card data.
• Device & usage: technical logs, app interactions, approximate location, for security, fraud prevention and improving the service.

3. Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6 & 9)

Performing our contract with you (providing matching and readings); your consent (optional and special-category data, including the biometric Face Check and birth data used for readings); our legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, product improvement); and legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect prior processing.

4. AI processing

To generate your readings we send the relevant inputs (e.g. chart data) to our AI provider (Anthropic / Claude). Outputs are for entertainment and self-reflection and are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.

5. Subprocessors & sharing

We share data with service providers strictly to run Synk: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel and Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), Anthropic (AI readings), astrology/Human-Design/numerology calculation providers, Stripe and RevenueCat (payments/subscriptions), and our email provider. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising. A current subprocessor list is available on request.

6. International transfers

Some providers are located in the US or other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active and as required for legal, security and accounting purposes. You can delete your account at any time in the app; we then delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required. Verification selfies are retained only as long as needed for verification.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law you may access, correct, delete, port, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. EU/EEA users may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact info@synk-dating.com.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit, row-level security, least-privilege access, append-only audit and consent logs, and other measures. No method is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

10. Children

Synk is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly process data of minors.
